Red is the culmination of
many creative forces -- the band's tremendous live energy
coupled with deft production by Thom Panunzio (Alice in
Chains, U2, Patty Smith, Bruce Springsteen, No Doubt). The
tunes are top notch and the band is in top form. But most
importantly, Panunzio brought out the best in the Young
Dubliners' sound, and that meant capturing the essence of a
Young Dubliners gig. "Where the magic hits," Roberts
explains "is when you can all come together and have a
relationship and know each other's strengths and weaknesses
and actually work together as a team, and this is the first
time real magic has happened to us."
