OUR NEW ALBUM

Hi, and welcome to our pledge drive to raise the necessary funds to record and release our new album. As many of you know we have been hard at work writing this album but this time we have chosen not to go with a record label.

There are many reasons for this decision but the most important one is that we want total creative freedom and control for the first time in the band's history. The recording industry has gone through a massive change in the last few years and we feel it is now better for us to become ''independent'' and release the album we want to release in the way we want to release it.

However we can't completely ''go it alone''. It will cost us approximately $40K to record, manufacture and market the new album and that's where you, the best fans in the world, come in.

What we are asking you to do is put your faith in us that we will record an album you will want to add to your Young Dubs collection. In other words, buy our album in advance. For those of you in a position to help a little more we have developed a multi-tiered pledge offering. No matter how much you pledge you will receive goods and services with a retail value greater than your pledge. The pledges range from a digital download of our new album for $10 all the way up to a trip to Ireland with us and much more. We are only asking for what you can afford. We completely understand that these are tough times and we will be forever grateful for whatever level you choose. This next album will truly be ''The People's Album'' and you will all have played a HUGE role in the making of it.

Update 4/24/2012

We successfully recorded drums and bass on the five new songs before we had to dash off for the Midwest. Played three shows so far with 5 to go. After that it will be back to the album. Starting to see a pattern here!!!

Update 4/12/2012

We are now back in the studio and are about to record 5 new songs today. We spent the last 3 days at the rehearsal studio in North Hollywood getting them all up to scratch and now Dave will lay down the drum tracks at Echo Park today and tomorrow. We will all play along with him so it has that live feel (as you can see in the video of us recording the instrumental) and then over the coming weeks we will add all the other instruments. After this week we will have 11 songs to work on but we are still planning to write a few more. Next week we start heading for Indiana and the 10 day tour of MI, IN, IL and IA.

Update 3/25/2012

Hey everybody, sorry for the long wait for an update. We were on the road for about 3 weeks and had a blast. The recording ground to a halt however so now we are taking a quick break to calm dowm from the road and then we'll be jumping back in. Next on the agenda is to record the basic tracks on another six or so songs. After that will come the huge job of finishing them all. That means writing loads of lyrics, working out melodies and then putting it all down. All part of the job. Hope you pledgers enjoyed your copy of We The Mighty. Lots more to come....

Update 2/28/2012

Hello again. Well we are back on the road. Played a private show in LA last night for the Bartenders Ball and now we head for Spokane. For most of us the recording process is on hold but Eric Rigler is putting some whistle and pipes down on one of our new songs at the studio and then that song will go to mixing. Just posted a video of the actual recording session for our new instrumental. Check it out. P.S. Eric will join us from Mar 14th to the 17th on the road.

Update 2/20/2012

Hey everyone, sorry it's been a while since I updated but that's because I've been flying and driving all over the gaff these last few days. We had a great weekend in Fairbanks and then went back into the studio. Did some vocals last week and will be doing some more tomorrow. Bob is still hammering away at the guitars and Chas has added some fiddle too. We have been focusing on a new song called "We the Mighty" which we will be playing on tour next month. More on that soon!!

Update 2/6/2012

The Pledge drive is going GREAT!! We are creeping up on half way to our goal after only 10 days. We started tracking our new album last week and all the drums on the first five songs are done. Now comes guitars, Bren, Keith and Bobby. Then Chassie and Eric Rigler. Finally vocals. Lyrics are being written as we speak. While driving, sleeping, walking, bathroom, well you get the idea. Everywhere. We head to Alaska again on Thursday so album goes on hold for five days.
We have a few vidoes to post now and more pics. Working on getting them up this week.

Update 2/2/2012

Running out of astonishment words, this is brilliant. Up to $15K now. Thanks so much. We start tracking today. Drums and bass first but we all play along to get the "live" feel (and so Dave knows where he is in the song :). Had a good rehearsal yesterday so Dave is well tuned up. Its getting exciting now. We just flew back from a couple of great shows in Alaska. Now back to work on the album. Pledge drive officially launched.

Update 1/19/2012

We are now set to start recording on Feb 1st with our long time producer Tim Boland. We will give you all constant updates on this page as we go. Six songs are ready with at least another eight or so to polish up. Not sure how many will make the final cut but we are writing away still.

If your PLEDGE involves an item to be shipped, there will be an additional $4 charge. All orders over $50 will have no shipping charge. All "non album related" items can be redeemed anytime after March 1st. If your PLEDGE involves tickets to shows or meet and greets, we will need at least 48 hours notice of which show(s) you wish to attend. In some cases we may be sold out by the time you make your request and will have to accomadate you at another show. For this reason we suggest you request your show early.
