First and foremost our hearts go out to the folks affected by these terrible hurricanes. Tears flow every night as we watch the huge loss suffered by so many. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. But we are also amazed by the strength and resilience of those same folks. It’s truly phenomenal. People hunker down then come out and help each other rebuild even better then before. Lets all keep giving what we can to help them do this.
I also want to thank all of you who came out this summer to our shows. There were some brilliant gigs this year and we are forever grateful for the support and encouragement you give us at each and everyone. It’s particularly rewarding to see families all together at the festivals. So many times Dads or Mums have come up to me with their kids saying that our shows are the only live music they all agree on. I love it. That’s what makes all the mad travelling worth it.
Now that the summer is fading out it’s back to the clubs for the Dubs. Every year in September we head for the East Coast to play as many venues as we can. Unfortunately many of the clubs are finding it very hard to keep the doors open. Attendance is way down for original live music and a lot of them are turning to DJ’s and tribute bands to stay afloat. Now I have nothing against either genre but we happen to be an original live band so I’m rooting for my gang.
Without these venues there would only be a “once every few years” Young Dub appearance at festivals in many of these cities. We are fighting tooth and nail not to let that happen but we need your help.
On Sept 22nd we start this run of shows in Connecticut and end in Maryland on the 30th. We are playing some beautiful venues (many for the first time) all up and down the coast in an effort to give everyone a chance to see the band without having to drive too far. But it only works if you guys come out.
So we are unabashedly making a plea to Young Dub fans all across the nation to either make it to a show or tell all your friends and family that we are playing near them. We want to keep coming “ to a town near you” as long as we can but we will need your support or the venues will disappear and I’ll have to start fishing professionally!
Thanks again to the best of the best of music supporters and we hope to see as many of you as we can very soon.
